Bruny Island District School is located in Alonnah on the beautiful Bruny Island, just a short 15-minute ferry ride, and 30 min drive from Tasmania’s mainland.

We take great pride in our close-knit school community, which includes around 60 students and an engaged, supportive group of parents. Our dedicated teaching staff delivers high-quality, evidence-based learning programs, with a strong emphasis on building essential literacy and numeracy skills.

We also offer a wide variety of enrichment opportunities, including Art, Music, Physical Education, Kitchen Garden, Library, and Concert Band.

At Bruny Island District School, we actively foster the DECYP values of connection, courage, growth, respect, and responsibility. Our Launching into Learning programs cater to children from birth to age 4, helping to create a seamless transition into Kindergarten.

Our goal is to be a hub of educational excellence, embedded in a community that is fully committed to working alongside families to create an inclusive environment where learning is cherished, children feel safe and secure, and the partnership between school and parents remains strong and collaborative.

We are proud of our school community and continually strive to provide all students with the opportunity to reach their full potential.
